There are 207 Canadian Athletes competing across 14 sports in Milano Cortina. An additional roster of Paralympic Athletes is set to compete from March 6-15, 2026. The Paralympics includes 79 events spanning over six sports and hosts a great representation of Canadian athletes.

Gallant remains chin-up after recently being defeated alongside his wife and partner, Jocelyn Peterman. The two finished 4-5 during opening action to the 2026 Winter Olympics Mixed Doubles Curling preliminary rounds.

Canadian Men’s Second, Marc Kennedy, is the Elder of all Canadian athletes during this year’s competition. The respected curling champ is representing Team Canada in his fourth Olympic appearance at the youthful age of 44.

Skating ovals, rinks and bobsled ice-tracks usually make for Canada’s strong suit but the Olympic landscape is shifting. Considering the youngest and oldest overall athletes are seventeen and fifty-four. Team Canada’s youngest athlete, 18 year old Eli Bouchard, has been shredding slopes since birth. Eli made his Olympic debut competing in Big Air and Slope Style Snowboard events at Milano Cortina 2026.

Team Canada’s first week at the winter Olympics landed athletes on the podium seven times. We proudly boast a total of 4 Bronze and 3 Silver in the countdown to closing ceremonies.

Whistling Wind Action Therapy

Whistling Wind Action Therapy helps save lives. Bi-weekly Men’s Group is just one of many community and land based services currently provided by Billy Dubery MNTCW, BSW, RSW, his professional staff, and dedicated volunteer team operating at 419 Selkirk Avenue.

In 2016 the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre Women’s Group gave birth to the idea of a similar safe-space for men. NPDWC then extended the idea to Mitch Bourbonniere and Billy Dubery, who responded by hosting the first group dedicated to men gathering and sharing in this good way.

Nine Years Later

Nine years later, Whistling Wind Action Therapy Men’s Group is still offered every second Monday except statutory holidays. Not to mention demonstrating personal, professional and community growth that’s identifiable in both service providers and participants.

Mitch has extensive years experience and reputation in helping others through rehabilitative services. Now he leads Main Street Walks every Tuesday and Thursday morning while Jeremy hosts Drum Group every Thursday night. Billy and staff are about to unveil a new treatment center located in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface area. Whistling Wind Action Therapy employs a team of 40 Action Therapists who provide community-based therapy to youth.

Even More Whole-Hearted

Even more whole-hearted and full circle is the consistent nurturing and involvement maintained by women like Morgan Fontaine. Each Men’s Group begins with a rewarding selection of new clothing and other hygienic necessities to help offset the rising cost of living. Morgan obtains and shares these items through her involvement with Okichidah Pimahtisiwin Kiskinawmatowin and Linking Hope Winnipeg.

Participants can expect a warm welcome with a free meal and no expectation to share among the circle. Returning guests can open doors to other free recovery and mental health services when becoming acquainted with Main Street Project Inc., @wiigiishiingiiwiigeenahn, and other indigenous-led community affiliates.

This Is Action Therapy

This is Action Therapy in full effect with community based initiatives fostering love for men by men through culture and ceremony. Selfcare, healing, and repairing harm are paramount to establishing and balancing all healthy relationships. This also includes one’s connectivity and respect to the land, elements and greater universe.

Winnipeg’s high-rate of homelessness, addictions, and deteriorating mental health identifies no demographic barriers. While indigenous people represent a large visible percentage in Winnipeg’s downtown core the impact can be seen in every corner of the city. Personal, familial, and communal disconnect lend to commercial property tenting and syringe littered lots.

In 2024 End Homelessness Winnipeg conducted its 4th Full Street Census focused on the growing rate of homelessness. Recently released findings identify rates, ethnicities, and likely contributing factors that project an unavoidable need for more appropriate and immediate services like Whistling Wind Action Therapy.

Winnipeg And Manitoba In General

Winnipeg and Manitoba in general, have responded well to an increase in negative lateral effects due to poor or deteriorating Mental Health. However alcohol and substance addictions coupled with domestic violence related incidents continue congesting court dockets and treatment program waitlists.

Addictions Foundation of Manitoba now operates in conjunction with Regional Health Authorities in Manitoba to offer virtual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sessions for anyone assessed to be less risk in terms of regular use or harm to self or others.

So if in the meantime you find yourself between life’s cracks; addicted, homeless, and at-risk, understand that recovery starts and continues with picking yourself up and facing the truth! Nobody is going to bring these services to you.

For the past six months I’ve lived at a sober living environment located in Winnipeg’s core. It’s tested patience and frustration while taking necessary steps to getting back on my feet with a healthy beat. I didn’t do it all alone but all the right choices have been made on my own! The Sky Canada Report

The Sky Canada Report from the Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada will be released any day now. The Sky Canada Project (SCP) began in 2022 as a review of current practices by Canadians reporting involvement with UAP’s.

Observation and investigation of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) is not as classified to the Canadian Government as some may assume. Between 1950 and 1995 the GOC recorded over 15, 000 pages of UFO related entries including 4000+ Unique Sightings.

A Preview of the Sky Canada Report released in January 2025 highlights methodology, key findings, and recommendations for enhancing overall success with the project. Chief Science Advisor of Canada, Mona Nemer, welcomes readers with an educational message and undeniable facts.

“Whether satellites, drones, planes or atmospheric events, no one would deny that there is more and more activity in the skies above us.” – Under the department title, Management of public reporting of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in Canada, CSA Nemer glides readers into summary and introduction while emphasizing;

“Our goal was to find the current resources and processes in place for handling and following up on UAP reports, to compare them with the best practices in other countries, and to make recommendations for potential improvements.” – Mona Nemer, CSA GOC.

Science Based Collaboration

“Adopting a science-based, collaborative approach will help address public concerns, demystify UAPs, and potentially reveal valuable insights into aerial phenomena that are currently unexplained.” – Sky Canada Report Preview Conclusion.

The preview report openly identifies favoring an American model, and, the Sky Canada Project seems to have spawned coincidentally in response to Trump’s Space Force – proposed interstellar defense system. Consultations with members from G7 Nations and Five Eyes helped navigate the landscape comparatively.

Since I Was A Kid

Since I was a kid in the ‘80s I’ve been fascinated with stories and personal observations of UAP’s. Nowadays it’s not as uncommon to overhear educated discussions on the subject during coffee or shop talk.

The Sky Canada Project and preview report provide eye-opening information that suggests Canadians can continue to expect seeing increased and more consistent aerial phenomena. Painting a galactic picture where Canada is inclusive to new scientific potentials, international partnerships, and a leader in space travel technology.

Until reading a preview to the Sky Canada Report I was among the majority of people who did not know exactly how to report or follow up with special interest sightings. I look forward to following up with the Sky Canada team this summer to share more UAP education with readers.

Keep lit and grow some cannabis at home! Manitobans can now legally participate in the joyful task of attempting to produce healthy cannabis plants for personal use.

The New Law

The new law allows homeowners to grow up to four plants indoors. Plants must be in a secure space inaccessible to persons under 19. Eager and avid green thumbs new to the experience are in for a treat beyond the average houseplant or garden vegetable. Households with two or more adults aged 19+ can only produce a total of four plants with a max yield of 30 g dried cannabis.

Further regulation and permission will be required for those abiding by the Residential Tenancies or Condominium Acts of Manitoba. Successful producers can store, carry, and share, but not sell personal products. Liquor, Gaming & Cannabis Authority of Manitoba has published a Cannabis Home Grow guideline. Manitoba Is The Last Province

Manitoba is the last province to initiate federal legislation allowing home production. Homegrown advocate groups such as @tobagrown have lobbied for citizens rights since 2020. Until May 1, 2025, production of personal cannabis in MB was permitted for medical use under Health Canada SOR/2018-144 regulations.
