Mapping Mental Health With Recovery Routes

Mapping Mental Health With Recovery Routes

I don’t drink alcohol or use cocaine to self-medicate depression anymore. The following information and educational material helps to share a meaningful experience and proof that both addiction and recovery can happen to anyone.

Mapping Mental Health With Recovery Routes

Mapping mental health with recovery routes is a collection of reflective, educational, factual, and truthful publications shaped from real life experience and tribulation.

I’ve been diagnosed with a thyroid gland deficiency which is relatively minor but eventually will require prescription medication until the end of my days. Doc has also referred me for an ADHD assessment with a likely diagnosis to be confirmed in Spring 2025.

These underlying medical issues along with unaddressed depression and mental unhealth eluded me subconsciously toward coping negatively with everything. Alcohol and substances (including cannabis) as self-medication became my formula to subtle self-harm. Basically just numbing the hurt from pretending I don’t care about anything.

If you or someone you know is currently experiencing addiction or in recovery I recommend booking an appointment with a doctor. Reestablishing healthy relationships with medical and other professionals builds a support system that can help keep you accountable and sober.

Day Trippin

I used to make it to work on no sleep for the third time any week. Wake and bake kickstart to a chain smoke and bottomless coffee morning with bumps for lunch. Finish the day at the vendor before seeing the plug and finding any enabler who might have a few bucks to keep up.

Burning night to day mixed into weekend activities blended with weekday routine!? Vampire life is common to functioning addicts and comes with similar effects as Covid-19. Breakdown of mental health and intimate relationships, plus increased addictions and arrests. My 2024 for real.

Blurred lines have groovy grooves if you get down to expand morals and unacceptable behavior boundaries. This ice-breaker blog is an example and introduction meant to demonstrate my personal experience and background understanding of addiction. I’m sober now but I lost everything twice finding my way here. I started by navigating free Mental Health Supports.

Two Shoulders And A Three Monkey Skull Jolly Rojer

Hear, see and speak evil but keep mouth shut if you live by night. Shutting in and distancing from healthy peers is not required to participate but unavoidable as you reach rock bottom. Mostly due to the web-of-lies and accumulated debt during addiction, and absolutely due to avoiding change.

I faced this reality after a total five months homelessness and being arrested on numerous alcohol related offenses in 2024. Chasing high’s in the legacy market is like taking a stroll past sale booths at a carnival. Lucrative and seductive marketing lend to an aroused welcome filled with warm wishes. I wandered aimlessly with booze and blow and all give-a-f$&k’s turned low.

Hand-in-hand, garage to garage, and couch to couch until I sobered up with a criminal record and pending charges. Not too mention restrictions from visiting people I love and places I enjoy, or participating in otherwise normal adult recreational activities. I ruined things by losing control.

Pink Skies At Night

Pink skies at night is a sailor’s delight and signatory to good days ahead. Living life one day at a time with a recovery plan and team helps me stay on course to a healthier routine. Managing a professional website that shares addictions and mental health resources is positive coping.

In 2021 Respect My Region published an article I wrote covering the Canadian Cannabis Substitution Program. Led by volunteer groups in London, Halifax and Vancouver who identified Winnipeg as a hopeful next. I’ll follow up with the group from London to find out where the program is now.

Not every blog I post is going to be a personal reflection piece and will never be a sob-rant on nothing educational. You’ve just read the soft introduction to the backdrop story of anything and everything else that is published hereinafter.

This year I’ll be inviting and hosting guests from addictions recovery and other mental health professional fields to PyraGeur Podcast. If you or someone you know would like to submit articles or appear on podcast to share helpful education please subscribe below.
