Team Canada fairs well bringing the bling while athletes show traits of true champions. Canadian athletes finish Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics with 21 medals.

The Canadian speed skating team blazed a burning ring of fire in Milano Cortina. The smoke trail is still rising and can be seen from up-over in the True North. These athletes functioned with a chemistry that caused a bonding reaction for all Canadians.

Valerie Maltais and Steven Dubois of the Canadian speed skating team are champion flag bearers at today’s closing ceremony. Teammate and game changer Courtney Sarault of Team Canada earned two new pairs of silver and bronze medals. Courtney is officially Canada’s first woman to ever achieve four medals at any Olympics. Adding to the Canadian speed skating team’s contribution of 10 medals in total.

Olympic viewers and patrons were also graced with the maneuvers of Mikael Kingsbury. His freestyle flow bumped him to gold on the podium for Men’s Dual Moguls. While Team Canada’s Megan Oldham took flight in Women’s Big Air Freestyle Skiing. She joins Mikael and the Canadian Men’s Curling Team in the golden zone at Milano Cortina.

Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier poured a little sugar on people everywhere. A magical and angelic Ice Dance with a stellar bronze landing on the podium. Brendan Mackay @brendanmackay dropped in for bronze on the Men’s Halfpipe freestyle skiing. Team Homan pushed through as Canadians always do. Team Canada fairs well bringing the bling.

Olympian athletes and fans alike had a double-dose spectacle of a historic heated rivalry. Team Canada matched up with the USA for gold in women’s and men’s hockey. Both games ended with a 2 – 1 loss in overtime after full-throttle regular play performances. Canadians dug hard and played with dynamite energy for their healthy keep of true champ silver.

Team Canada’s final medal count reached 21 for a 10% medals to athletes ratio. I figure the greater value of the total figure is due in part to the sum of less figure skaters! Can you figure it out? That’s 50% of our total closing medal count. A little Sunday brain tease tongue tie fun.
