Artemis II splashdown sets NASA’s trajectory Mars-bound. Not only did the Artemis II crew travel further in space than any humans before. They did it in record time under radio-wave-breaking new science and technology. Exceeding a multitude of space exploration records historically set by NASA. Travelling a total distance of 694,481 Miles.

The Artemis Tour lasted exactly 9 days, 1 hour, 31 minutes and 35 seconds. The crew flew an Orion Spacecraft named Integrity. Sporting the latest edition of NASA’s Orion Crew Survival System (OCSS) Suits. The suits currently allow an astronaut up to six hours of recovery lifespan outside from a spacecraft environment.

The image above provides a detailed breakdown of NASA’s new and improved OCSS suits. Learn more about NASA’s education partnerships and how to draw Artemis HERE.
Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen Marveled Through The Galaxy
Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen marveled through the galaxy dawning an Indigenous decorative space patch. Designed by Manitoba Anishinaabe artist Henry Guimond from Sagkeeng First Nation. The creative artwork fastened with honor to Jeremy’s OCSS suit from liftoff to splashdown.

It is customary Space Culture for NASA and the Canadian Space Agency to provide astronauts with mission patches. The spacecrafty Canuck extends celebrating an Artemis II fist-bump full of firsts with all on Turtle Island. Jeremy is NASA’s first astronaut to garnish a custom Indigenous-created mission-specific space patch.
Adjustments To Integrity’s Re-Entry Trajectory
Adjustments to Integrity’s re-entry trajectory were calculated to help reduce intensity when shedding its AVCOAT shell. During this nineteen minute burst Integrity reached temperatures between 4000-5000 degrees. Impressively maintaining cabin temperature at 22 degrees. NASA has already confirmed applying a different heat shield for the Artemis III mission and beyond.

For seven gripping minutes the universe stood still as Artemis II went into a communication blackout. After the Artemis II Crew module separated from the European service module it entered Earth’s atmosphere at 24, 661 MPH. Another new record from the previous set by the crew of Apollo 10 in 1969.
Mission Milestones
Mission milestones include communicating to earth and space with the speed of light. Collecting flawless first of its kind data and images from the far side of the moon. Enhanced footage and education of Earthrise. Transmitting iPhone images, videos, and phone calls while riding the Lunar Sphere of Excellence. NASA’s Deep Space Network stellar performance during Lunar Flyby and entire Artemis II tour.
Is It Any Coincidence The Artemis Logo Is Similar In Shape To A Mason’s Trowel?!

Is it any coincidence the Artemis logo is similar in shape to a mason’s trowel?! In my previous two articles highlighting the Artemis Lunar Program I’ve shared personal optimism toward NASA’s future missions.
In closing to my freelance recap of the Artemis II mission, tour, and crew I’m directing your attention to NASA’s Artemis II Crew Return to Houston. Broadcast today and livestreamed at NASA YouTube. It includes tear-jerking speeches from Artemis II astronauts and NASA operations personnel. Jeremy Hansen speaks at the 1:00 hour marker earning a standing ovation. Artemis III, IV, and Mars Mission, and NASA’s Moon Launch Base are confirmed by all levels of involvement. Commander Reid extends love and invitations to everyone on Earth!
